One common problem that Honda Accord drivers might encounter is a flat tire. Here's a simplified guide on how to change it.

Required Tools and Equipment

• Spare tire
• Car Jack
• Lug wrench
• Wheel wedges
• Gloves

Step-by-step Procedure

Step 1: Ensure Safety

Before starting, park your car on a flat, stable surface. Apply the parking brake and place wheel wedges on the tires opposite to the flat one to prevent the car from moving.

Step 2: Loosen the Lug Nuts

Using your lug wrench, turn the lug nuts counterclockwise. You might need to remove the hubcap. Don't fully remove the lug nuts yet, just break the resistance.

Step 3: Raise the Vehicle

Place the jack under the vehicle frame near the tire that you are going to change. Raise the vehicle until the flat tire is off the ground.

Step 4: Remove the Lug Nuts and the Flat Tire

Now, completely remove the lug nuts. Once done, grasp the flat tire by its treads and gently pull until it comes free.

Step 5: Mount the Spare Tire

Push gently until the lug bolts show through the rim. Put the lug nuts back on.

Step 6: Lower the Vehicle and Tighten the Lug Nuts

Lower the vehicle without applying full weight on the tire, then tighten the lug nuts as much as possible. Then fully lower the vehicle and remove the jack. Give the lug nuts another pull to ensure they're as tight as possible.

Step 7: Check Tire Pressure

Finally, ensure the spare tire has enough tire pressure. Your owner manual can provide the correct pressure.
